Day 30 of Prayer Guide - Peace for Your Body

Day Thirty
Peace for Your Body

Proverbs 14:30a A heart at peace gives life to the body.

A cough overstays his welcome. Energy eludes despite nap and extended sleep. These hallmarks shout your status: Tired.

Restless one, come obtain peace for your body.

Today I Pray for You:

·         To know the Rest Who penetrates first heart and then body.
·         To know the Way and comprehend the Truth that is a Life of peace.

Today You Pray:

Alpha and Omega, as I come to the end of my prayer journey, I realize it’s a beginning. You have flooded my mind, soul, heart and body with all of You and I want more.

You have proven to be all I need – sufficient for every trying moment of my day. Today I give You my body. With every beat of my heart, massage Your life-giving peace deep inside. My heart is at home in Your hands and gives my body the life it craves.

  2. Liberating Shannon, to offer up our bodies to Jesus. I want his peace in my body as well as my mind and heart. I know peace comes when he reigns, the absence of peace points out my rebellious uprising. Thank you for the call to come kneel at his feet once again, body, soul and spirit!

  3. Come to me, all you TIRED and HARRIED ones, and I will give you REST. And yet, we often keep on with our crazy schedules either martyring our way through or resenting the people or things that master our schedule. But He is there all the time.
I love "massage your life-giving peace deep inside me." Beautifully written. I have missed many of your days in this series, so I am going to go back and read them all now that my schedule has slowed down a bit. :)

  4. Great reminder that He gives us all that we need---including rest and recovery. My son is very, very active. As a 13 year-old, he really never stops. He was sick this past weekend and into the week. 4 days he laid on the couch resting. That's just what he needed to heal his body, and yesterday, he was off and running again! Beautiful post! Thanks.

  7. Beck, I so agree. The best kind of liberation is offering ourselves wholly to Christ!

  11. A timely word, Shannon. How easy it is for us to deprive our bodies of the rest and healthy foods they need -- especially in our fast-paced culture. God tells us that our bodies are the temple of His Spirit, and we need to care for them, lest we wake up one day and discover that we don't have the strength and health to continue with our daily work.

  12. Bam, really strong writing in your first two sentences. . .it's funny how the end of our journeys are always the beginning of something else.

    Nice work, friend.

  25. Hi Shanon ~ I'm a little slow on reading these days. This was great. The whole 30 days were a blessing. Maybe you could just take December off and start fresh with a new "journal" in January! Okay...whatever you write will be good! Thanks for being such an inspiration to me.
    Blessings...Chelle
