My Pride and Joy?

My pride and joy.

It's an expression we've all heard and probably used.

I could tie those words around the faces of my daughters (at least on the good days).

My hubby would likely apply them to his cherry-red, studly Corvette.

This Corvette isn't his but those adorable girls sure are!
In fact the expression is appropriate for a myriad of settings - homes, offices, even church buildings. Anything we work hard for and accomplish we tend to take pride in and feel joy about.

Or do we? What do you think?

I invite you today to hop over to my church's online Bible study and think with me a bit about pride and joy...

  2. I haven't yet used the phrase, but I think it really does epitomize my daughter in our lives. I now "get" what it really means. My pride and joy!

  4. It's funny Shannon but I too use that term a lot without thinking of the fact that when I'm prideful I'm usually not connected to God. Great reminder! Thanks!

  7. Hard work desn't always bring joy - it needs to be something you are passionate about too in my opinion. I love how different the male / female joys are ;)

  8. Sure...I have pride and joy in sanding and upholstering my husband's 1956 corvette convertible. Plus, I'm #1 Assistant mechanic(all of the time)! Not easy stuff, but when I look at that car, it feels pretty good:) Love that photo!
