Prayer Guide Day 9 - Confidence for Your Mind

Day Nine
Confidence for Your Mind

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things

My mind is a vortex; my confidence a downward spiral. When did the switch throw from believing I could do all things through Christ to believing failure was imminent? I yearn for the thrilling days when I advanced in faith without consideration of setback.

Fearful one, come declare confidence for your mind.

Today I Pray for You:

·         To remove the cloak of doubt which veils your thoughts, so your mind is clear to focus on Christ

·         To experience an explosion of faith based on God’s goodness not your competence

Today You Pray:

My Cornerstone, I build my thoughts on You. Layer my mind with bricks of Your grace. Hold my brain together with the mortar of Your love.

In these moments of quiet, I recount Your goodness. You never fail me and You won’t start now. Fixed on You, my mind is secure once more.

  1. I needed that verse today! Thaks for reminding me that I am just wastin' my time worrying about stuff that is so momentary!:)

  2. Oh Kelli, so true. I get caught up in temporary...when He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

  3. I need confidence for my mind! I love that verse and covet these prayers :) Confidence is the word the Lord has been breathing into my insecure heart lately. I'm going to have to go back and read 1-6 since I've missed those! Blessings!

  4. Doubts and fears of failure have been haunting me for years. And even now as I am on the brink of embarking on a major step in my life, it is trying to creep in and take over. I needed to read this today. Like Heidi, I will need to refresh my mind from the beginning of this series. Thank you Shannon!

  5. Love it, Shannon! Thanks for encouraging me tonight...some good thoughts before bedtime :)

  6. Just what I needed for today.
"To experience an explosion of faith based on God’s goodness not your competence".
    I love this. Sooo true.

  8. Heidi, love that you're breathing in the confidence of God; that is truly life-giving breath!

  9. Miriam, believing with you God has great things in store for you.

  10. Shelly, praying you've had sweet sleep and are waking up refreshed!

  11. Romiz Essentials, so thankful this post connected with your beautiful heart.

  12. Tracy, your tree is definitely planted in His garden!

  13. HI Shannon~I'm starting to think the Lord has you writing this Prayer blog just for me! Not really...but it does seem that most everything you have written I so desperately need at this time.
To remove the cloak of doubt...
To experience an explosion of faith...
Hold my brain together with the mortar of Your love.
Thank you for sharing His thoughts through you!!

  14. Love that verse, but I always find myself worrying bout earthy things, but God always pulls me through & then I find out I worried for nothing. I always pray to God that I know I'm not suppose to worry, but it's a mother thing :)

Stopping by from Members to Remember.

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

  15. Chelle, love having you on this prayer journey. Together we walk and pray closer to the heart of God.

  16. Laura, so true. Children are birthed with worries it seems. Isn't it cool that we don't bear those burdens alone?

  17. Thank you for the great words of encouragement. It's a great way to start off my day. Stopping by from VoiceBoks, have a wonderful week.

  18. Mary, so very thankful for your visit today. Hope you'll drop by often to be refreshed.
